About Me!
Hello! My name is Brooklyn and I work as a Radiation Therapist at the Cross Cancer Institute. I have been there for 3+ years and love my job. As a Radiation Therapist I deliver high doses of Radiation with the goal of minimizing a patients oncologic symptom burden. Radiation Therapy is an evolving field with emerging technologies and treatments continually being developed. Some of my favourite things about my career include a fast-paced working environment, developing rapport with my patients, and staying up to date through continued education. In addition to working with an abundance of amazing Radiation Therapists at the Cross Cancer Institute there is a lot of interprofessional collaboration. I work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals to provide the best care possible our patients. Not only do I work along side Radiation Oncologists and Dosimetrists but also many Allied Health Professionals including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Speech Language Pathologists, and Spiritual care specialists.

Becoming a lifelong learner with passion for research and to advance practice
I have been working and growing as a Radiation Therapist for nearly 4 years. I love this career not only for the direct patient contact but also for the emerging technologies and advancement of practice occurring to allow for better outcomes for patients. I have recently been a part of training and aiding in advancing radiotherapy practice through Magnetic Resonance in Radiation Therapy. I have completed courses and a clinical practicum to build knowledge and competence in MRI anatomy, physics, and safety. I am now one of three MRT(T)s gaining an enhanced licence in MRRT in Western Canada. Additionally, I have a passion for research and have worked with a team to complete and publish a paper which you can find below. My main interests lie in palliative care, and emerging technoligies.
